Man, that is flagrant false advertising.
When you name your business “Espresso Station,” you’re setting expectations high. The problem is that even if the store had a different name and you approached their coffee with modest anticipation, you would still be in for a massive letdown.
Espresso Station is located inside the Moor Street train station, with not one but two vending locations: a regular shop in the lounge and a kiosk in the train area, the latter accessible only if you are boarding or alighting from a train.
Both use La Spaziale machines, which usually indicates a certain quality. Unfortunately, this is not the case here.
The espresso from their main store was so sour and acidic that it set the lowest point in my espresso benchmark, and I can’t see that changing in the foreseeable future.
The one from the kiosk was still highly acidic, though a little more drinkable.
If you are waiting for a train and your caffeine urge is really pressing, you might want to try your chances ordering a latte or a flat white and perhaps have better luck.
“Depresso Station” would have been more intellectually honest.
