CAFFÈ DI MILANO, Hurst Street

Now, this might be my mind playing tricks on me, but I had very fond memories of the espresso at Caffè Di Milano and remembered it as one of the best I had tried in the area.

I hadn’t been there for a while, and when I went back for a cup before writing this review, I was surprised and let down because the espresso tasted very different from my recollection.

I don’t know if something changed in the meantime or if my memories were simply hazy, but the coffee I sipped now was dangerously verging on the acidic side of the flavour spectrum.

This is strange, considering they use a Fracino machine with Lavazza coffee, which are usually fail-proof choices.

It wasn’t undrinkable by any means, but it deserves a rating between one and two cups if I’m being generous, rather than the top rating I would have given had I based this review only on my old memories.

Nevertheless, the place, located inside the Arcadian complex, is still worth visiting for its lovely, classy, almost posh ambiance and the delicious bakery options. They’re not the cheapest, but they’re worth every cent.

I’m going back in a little while and I’ll update the review accordingly.
